The filtration system begins with a standard filter that is effective in removing 99.99% of contaminants and pollutants found in fresh water including chlorine, sediment and dirt, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, E-Coli Bacteria, DDT, MTBE, Benzene, Chloroforms (THM’S), Detergents, Pesticides, and Dissolved Solids (Heavy metals) such as Arsenic, Lead, Mercury, Copper, Zinc, Aluminum and Chromium 6, and much more. But it doesn’t stop there…the addition of an EPA-approved iodinated resin, which has been proven effective in the removal of bacteria and virus to six logs (99.9999%), takes this filter to the next level and ensures bacteria and viruses won’t make it into your drinking water.

As if the level of filtration provided thus far wasn’t more than adequate, the Urban Pipeline bottles and straws also have an antimicrobial media molecuraly bonded to the filters which act as a “pincushion” of molecules that disrupt and rupture the cell structures of waterborne micro-organisms. It is safe, non-toxic, non-leaching, EPA, FDA and NSF approved, and reduces bacteria to four logs, or 99.99%. The filters are good for up to 100 gallons of water filtration, depending, of course, on the amount of contaminents in the original water. Maximum filtering capability will gradually diminish and when the water flow is too low, it’s time to replace the system. How the filter works

Through medical technology, the filter was created using a uniform 2-micron absolute pore size for the assured reduction and removal of the above contaminants. The high-tech porous plastic micro-filter is impregnated with both the finest granulated-activated coconut Carbon available and exclusive adsorbing media for superior analyte removal capability. In addition, the controlled 2-micron filter contains thousands of Omni-directional pores that result in a “tortuous path” for superior analyte reduction. The exclusive Ionic-Adsorption Micro-Filtration coordinates all processes of contaminant reduction by Adsorption, Absorption, Chemical bonding, Chelation, and Depth filtration.
