Mark Skousen has been hunting with his dad and brothers from a very early age and in the last 10 years has focused his passion of hunting and the outdoors to extreme backcountry bow hunting for bull elk while capturing it all on his HD camera. Mark’s wife is convinced he has a clinically diagnosed obsession but is very supportive.
Mark has had the opportunity to hunt and successfully harvest Elk, Deer, Caribou, and Russian Boar with his archery tackle. In the off-season, Mark shoots his bow nearly every day and regularly competes in 3-D leagues to keep his shooting skills honed for the upcoming season. As a backcountry bow hunter, Mark is well versed in the latest backcountry gear that can either make or break a hunt and is more than willing to share this information with other fellow elk hunters.
Mark is thrilled to be joining the Elk101 pro-staff and will be a regular contributor to the extreme elk magazine as well as the Elk101 website. He resides in Highland, Utah with his wife, Marisa, four children, 10 chickens, a couple horses and a dog. Life is busy!
