Josh Boyd grew up in the mountains of western Montana where he has been hunting elk for over 25 years. He successfully punched his first elk tag at the age of 13 and has been addicted ever since. Josh has numerous public-land archery bulls to his credit as well as P&Y qualifying antelope, black bears, mule deer, and whitetail deer. Hunting big bulls in terrain varying from open sage prairie to alder-choked avalanche chutes has made him a very well-rounded hunter. Persistence, hard work, an appetite for learning, and countless days afield are the foundation of his success.
Josh is member of Sitka Gear Pro Staff as well as the G5 Outdoors and BowTech Archery. He is also a part-time outdoor writer who has been sharing his experiences and knowledge of western bowhunting. Josh’s articles have appeared in Bowhunter, Bow & Arrow Hunting, and Eastmans Bowhunting Journal.
Josh lives in Northwest Montana where his career with the U.S. Forest Service specializes in hydrology and watershed restoration.
