Jeff Skousen became addicting to hunting and the outdoors at an early age while spending time at the family Ranch in Meeker, Colorado, near the White River National Forest. Jeff harvested his first elk at the age of 13 and has been addicted to all things elk ever since. Jeff started filming hunts for a guide service in Colorado at the age of 17 and always dreamed of becoming the next Marty Stouffer on Wild America.
For the past 14 years, Jeff has developed an addiction for true backcountry bowhunting and has taken several animals including several Elk, Mule Deer, Caribou and other small game animals with his bow. Jeff regularly competes in 3D tournaments to hone his shooting skills and just recently won a national elk calling contest.
“I love everything about backcountry bowhunting. I love the physical preparation, I love testing new gear, I love trying new tactics, and I love the fact that when you get an animal on the ground, you’ve earned it.”
Jeff currently resides in Cedar Hills Utah with his supportive wife, Tricia, and their 5 children, who always complain that the elk at the restaurant doesn’t taste as good as dad’s on the grill.
