Corey Jacobsen
For 6-Time World Champion Elk Caller, Corey Jacobsen, there is nothing like the high-country in mid-September. Finishing in the top 5 at the RMEF World Championship Elk Calling contest 12 times in the past 13 years, he has quickly become one of the most sought-after resources for elk calling and elk hunting instruction in the nation. Corey recognizes that success on the stage doesn’t necessarily relate to success in the field, however, and he lives for the “real” contest that takes place in the elk woods every September. It is there, on public land, over-the-counter archery units that he has been hunting elk for over 23 years.
Growing up in Idaho has allowed Corey the opportunity to harvest many big game animals including elk, whitetail deer, mule deer, black bear, cougar, moose, and antelope, as well as coyotes, bobcats, and many other smaller game animals. Stories of his hunts have been published in magazines such as Eastman’s Bowhunting Journal, Western Hunter Magazine, Trophy Hunter Magazine, and more. Corey’s passion for bowhunting elk is evident to those who attend his seminars and classes, where he willingly shares the tips and tactics that have brought him consistent success year after year. In addition to being a member of Hoyt’s national Bowhunting Staff, Corey currently serves as the Pro Staff Director for Sitka Gear and is a regular on the Extreme Bulls Video series produced by Steve Chappell.
Now living in Boise, Idaho, where they run the popular Elk Hunting website, Elk101.com, Corey and his wife, Jennifer, have three children – Isaac, Jessi, and Samuel
