Points

Nevada uses a modified bonus point system where an applicants bonus points are squared for the drawing (i.e., an applicant with 4 bonus points will receive 16 chances, plus 1 chance for the current application, for a total of 17 chances in the draw). Applicants will receive a bonus point if unsuccessful in the draw or by applying for a bonus point only.

Purchasing a Bonus Point Only

Bonus points may be applied for the same way you would apply for a tag, through the mail or online at www.huntnevada.com. Bonus points are not earned if an applicant requests and receives a hunting license refund.

Non-Resident Permit Allocations

The non-resident tag quotas will fluctuate with resident opportunity.  This formula establishes a minimum level of resident opportunity and corresponding nonresident quotas.  Non-residents tag quotas will fluctuate between 10%-15%.

Hunt Choices

Most tags are awarded through a random draw process in early June and are available to those 12 years old or older. A second drawing is conducted for remaining tags in early July, and any remaining tags after that draw can be applied for on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hunter Education Requirements

Persons born after January 1, 1960, must take a hunter education course before obtaining a hunting license. This must be on file with the Nevada Department of Wildlife prior to applying for any hunt online.
